Coming to a pinnacle during the recent difficult and often vitriolic U.S. Presidential Election, Facebook Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Mark Zuckerberg has decided the time has come to stem the tide of fake news being distributed on the social media network. Zuckerberg has previously rebuked the notion the platform should police content for accuracy, insisting most information shared is authentic. Some have suggested the spreading of misinformation tipped the scales in President-Elect Trump’s favor, a notion Zuckerberg rejects.
